Georges River Reflections
← Back
In 2025, Ironbark Films produced two documentary films as part of Hurstville Museum & Gallery’s Georges River Reflections, which explores the local history and development of the St George region. Arranged thematically, the exhibition explores who has shaped the region from the earliest people to present day communities and how life has changed over the years.
The films each explore different aspects of history of the region, comprised of talking heads with several members of the community. One focuses on the cultural diversity of the region while the other on the experiences of First Nations people.
As a result of the films, the exhibition is not only more interactive, with an uptick in engagement from visitors reported within just a week of the films being displayed, but it also more authentically reflects First Nations history, migrant stories and cultural diversity of the St George region.
